You Know You Need A Web Site But . . .

You're not a web designer, you have no idea how to create graphics for a site and you've never even opened an HTML editor.

 If you have sufficient financial resources, you could have your site professionally custom designed. BUT if you're on a budget and you have a bit of time you can use a web site template to create your site. In fact many web hosting plans include a free online site builder tool that has templates and graphics you can use for your site. If you purchase a template separately, they are very reasonably priced compared to a custom web site design.

For a bit more of a custom look and a lot more flexibility in added features, you can use a template that you edit in an HTML editor or even in a text editor like Notepad.

Web design templates are available in all types of themes: business, medical, musician, mp3 download sites, gardening themes, pet and animal themes, holiday designs - you get the idea. There are themes for almost anything you can think of. A template will also give you a good page layout and navigation. Basically all you have to do is add your content.

A good template will include the .png or .psd graphics files. These are graphics in their "native" or layered state which makes them easy to change. In the alternative, the designs will be laid out so that it is easy to substitute a new graphic for the one that came with the template. This way you can use the layout features of your template but it won't look like any others on the web.

And that brings us to another characteristic of a good template: it will be sold to only a limited number of people and then pulled from inventory so that there are not dozens or hundreds of sites that all look the same. Often you will be able to see how many times a particular design has already been downloaded.
